Originally from the Western Alps in Italy and Switzerland, this working dog was primarily bred for rescue work by the hospice. Tales are sung about the breed’s Alpine rescues which they are famous for. Saint Bernard are huge dogs, who despite their imposing appearance are more or less friendly giants.
